Turkey Creek Bridge Replacement
Client: Chimney Rock Metro District
Project Location: Morrison, Colorado
Project Data:
JeHN Engineering designed a double 8x10 box culvert for the crossing of Turkey Creek, as well as widening and replacing the roadway. Part of the design process included a bridge modeling using the Army Corp of Engineers' HEC-2 and HEC-RAS models, preparation of pre-cast box culvert plans and 1000 linear feet of Belleview Drive relocation plans. JeHN also successfully coordinated all aspects of construction, which included daily oversight and inspection of all contractors, scheduling, and documenting of all activities, including field changes. The culvert was built in two stages to maintain traffic over the bridge and water flow in the creek. The construction was conducted in accordance with the requirements of Jefferson County and the Colorado Department of Transportation, who had both allocated funds for the project.
