Vail's Front Door
Project Location: Vail, Colorado
Project Data: The Front Door project at Vail Village is an attempt to create a welcoming entrance for skiers and visitors. Currently, parking lots and back door loading docks are the first things people see when they enter the resort.
To revitalize the entrance several things had to be done. First, an existing surface parking lot was moved underground and topped with a landscaped park. Also, an underground delivery system which includes 14 delivery bays will be available for use by all of the Vail Village merchants. This system allows deliveries to be made underground, and then carriers will deliver goods on foot with hand trucks.
JeHN Engineering designed the dewatering system to allow the Vail's Front Door project to get started. As with most dewatering projects, it is critical to get this system in place and working to allow the design to function properly.
