Arvada Olde Town Library
Client: Jefferson County Public Library
The Arvada Public Library was built in 1966, and has been housed in a small facility on 57th and Dover. The new Olde Town library is planned to be over 36,000 square feet and will be located next to Old Town Square on West 57th Avenue between Wadsworth Boulevard and Webster Street.
The new library will have two stories of public use space, with an area for staff located in the basement. Plans include a community meeting room, study rooms, wireless internet, and a parking lot with approximately 120 spaces.
The Jefferson County Public Library, the City of Arvada, the Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners and the Arvada Urban Renewal Authority worked together to create this project.
JeHN Engineering was responsible for surveying the topography and the civil infrastructure necessary to complete the project. The infrastructure included coordination of the existing buildings demolition, site excavation, water and sewer utility design, and site improvements.
